Course Overview
Phonics Phase 2 builds upon the listening and sound awareness skills developed in Phase 1, guiding learners toward decoding, blending, and fluent early reading.
This self-paced course is designed for learners in Grade 1 and Grade 2 who are beginning to connect spoken sounds to written letters with growing accuracy and confidence. Through a balanced mix of explicit phonics instruction, interactive reading tasks, handwriting practice, and spelling exercises, learners gain mastery of the first 19 letter-sound correspondences and apply them to read and spell simple words and sentences independently.
Each module is carefully structured to strengthen phonemic awareness, decoding fluency, and spelling accuracy using an international phonics framework for early literacy. By the end of this course, learners move beyond sound recognition to fluent word reading and foundational comprehension.
